Tank Trouble Tuesday

A fueling facility in Tanknology's Ohio Valley region requested a TankCam® inspection of an 8,000 gallon, lined steel tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held premium unleaded.

The TankCam inspection revealed an active ingress in the tank bottom. Several other areas resembling possible points of ingress were observed on the lower tank wall and at the endcap. The inspection also showed a section of lining that had separated from the tank wall.

Tank Trouble Tuesday

A fueling facility in Tanknology's Gulf Coast region requested a TankCam® inspection of a 10,000 gallon, fiberglass tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held super unleaded.

The TankCam inspection showed that the lower half of the tank was obscured by a build-up of residue, but a possible crack was observed in the lower tank wall on either side of the tank.

Tank Trouble Tuesday

A fueling facility in Tanknology's Gulf Coast region requested a TankCam® inspection of a 10,000 gallon, fiberglass tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held regular unleaded.

The TankCam inspection revealed an active ingress through a crack in the tank wall. A pattern of degradation around the top of the crack (blistering, flaking, dark staining) was observed in several other areas of the tank wall, indicating it is likely that other cracks are forming. Widespread flaking and blistering was found in the tank and the tank bottom exhibited a build-up of sediment, residue, and debris.
