Tank Trouble Tuesday


A fueling facility in Tanknology's Midwest region requested a TankCam inspection of a 10,000 gallon fiberglass tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held regular unleaded.

The TankCam inspection showed a build-up of residue on the bottom half of the tank. The tank walls exhibited some areas of white streaking and staining and corrosion was observed on one of the tank bungs. The inspection also showed that the tank bottom contained pieces of debris.

Tank Trouble Tuesday



A fueling facility in Tanknology's Northeast region requested a TankCam inspection of a 6,000 gallon fiberglass tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held diesel.

The TankCam inspection showed sediment and a small amount of residual liquid on the tank bottom .
The inspection also showed that oxidation and corrosion covered the STP shaft.

Tank Trouble Tuesday



A fueling facility in Tanknology's Southeast region requested a TankCam inspection of a 8,000 gallon steel tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held regular unleaded.

The TankCam inspection showed that the lining of the tank appeared had detached from most of the tank surface. Much of the lining that had detached from the tank surface was seen lying on the tank bottom.

Tank Trouble Tuesday



A fueling facility in Tanknology's Southeast region requested a TankCam inspection of a 8,000 gallon steel tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held regular unleaded.

The TankCam inspection showed that the lining of the tank had detached from most of the tank surfaces. A large sheet of the lining was hanging from a manway. Water was observed steadily dripping off of the sheet.
