Tank Trouble Tuesday

Identifying the cause of a water ingress is one of the many uses of a TankCam inspection

As water ingresses can be caused by a variety of factors, many owners or operators appreciate having visual evidence of what's really happening inside their USTs.

The extensive corrosion found in the Missouri tank featured below is just one of many problems that TankCam could reveal in your UST. Follow our Tank Trouble Tuesday series to see more.

Tank Trouble Tuesday

A water ingress is a serious problem, but pinpointing the leak can be challenging. In this week's Tank Trouble Tuesday we explore a case where a hole in a vent line caused water to enter a double walled fiberglass tank.

The TankCam technician began the inspection by inserting the TankCam into the tank through the fill riser. After observing water entering through the Stage I riser, the technician inserted the TankCam into the Stage I riser. We were able to show the customer video evidence of water entering through the vapor pipe and draining down into the vapor tee, then into the tank.

Pinpointing a leak is one of the many applications of a TankCam inspection.

Tank Trouble Tuesday

Every owner or operator of a UST knows the need for quick answers when an interstitial monitoring alert shows lost brine. However, identifying whether there was a breach in the inner or outer tank can be challenging.

Emergency inspections from Tanknology can quickly pinpoint the cause of a leak, and assist you in making a decision on how to move forward.

Tank Trouble Tuesday

Instead of pulling out a flashlight or a lighter, call us for a TankCam inspection to illuminate any potential problems in your UST.

These images were captured with our TankCam inspection service, looking through fuel to the bottom of the tank. TankCam inspections do not require that the tank be empty, and only need 24 inches of ullage space.
