Tank Trouble Tuesday

A TankCam® inspection to look for a ball float in a North Carolina 5,000 gallon kerosene tank led to identifying deflection in the tank's structure.

Though the tank featured in this edition of Tank Trouble Tuesday is steel, deflection is more common in fiberglass tanks. We have developed a program for Assessing Aging Fiberglass USTs which includes a TankCam inspection and Tank Deflection/ Deformation testing, all performed from above-ground.

We confirmed the breach by pouring water into the interstitial space, and using a TankCam® inspection to identify a crack in the lower tank wall.

Tank Trouble Tuesday

This week's edition of Tank Trouble Tuesday features a corroded steel UST in Arkansas.

TankCam® inspections are an excellent tool to see what's happening inside your tank and determine the extent of corrosion such as this before it causes bigger problems like compromised fuel quality, weakened tank walls, or even a hole in the tank.
