Tank Trouble Tuesday


A fueling facility in Tanknology's Ohio Valley region requested a TankCam® inspection of an 8,000 gallon fiberglass tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held premium unleaded.

The inspection revealed water ingress near the fill riser and two cracks with active ingress near center seam on each side of the tank. The inspection showeed several patches in the tank as well as blistering and flaking.

Tank Trouble Tuesday


A fueling facility in Tanknology's Gulf Coast region requested a TankCam® inspection of a fiberglass tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held premium gasoline.

The inspection revealed several areas of peeling resin on the upper tank walls and several bungs exhibited corrosion. No active ingress was observed at the time of inspection but possible water staining was observed on the ball float shaft. Possible staining was also observed on a section of the upper tank wall.

Tank Trouble Tuesday


A fueling facility in Tanknology's Gulf Coast region requested a TankCam® inspection of a singlewall, 8,000-gallon steel tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held unleaded gasoline.

The inspection revealed a liquid dripping from the bung in front of the fill riser. The inspection also showed considerable corrosion on the top of the tank.

Tank Trouble Tuesday


A facility in Tanknology's Ohio Valley region requested a TankCam® inspection after failed a tank and line tests. The tank is a singlewall, 8,000 gallon steel tank that held fuel oil. 

The inspection revealed that the tank seam was separating and there were several areas inside the tank that exhibited corrosion. Streaking and staining was observed on the endcap closest to the manway and several areas of exposed steel exhibited oxidation. Drops of condensation were observed on the texture irregularities were visible on top of the tank.

Tank Trouble Tuesday


A fueling facility in Tanknology's Western Plains region requested a TankCam® inspection of a lined, singlewall, 12,000-gallon steel tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held midgrade gasoline.

The inspection revealed multiple drips coming from the manway patch on the tank lining. Ingress was also observed originating at a bung and along the end seam of the tank near the ATG.
