Tank Trouble Tuesday


A fueling facility in Tanknology's Gulf Coast region requested a TankCam® inspection of a 10,000 gallon fiberglass tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held unleaded.

The TankCam inspection revealed discoloration and residue throughout the tank. Blistering, flaking, and peeling were also seen in the tank. Sediment and debris were found on the tank bottom and heavy corrosion and leaks were found in the sump.

Tank Trouble Tuesday


A fueling facility in Tanknology's Western Plains region requested a TankCam® inspection of a 10,000 gallon fiberglass tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held unleaded.

The TankCam inspection revealed mainly cosmetic blemishes in the tank. The tank bottom was obscured by the product and drips into the product pool was observed during vacuum, largely near endcap top seam at the fill end of the tank.

Tank Trouble Tuesday


A fueling facility in Tanknology's Western Plains region requested a TankCam® inspection of a 10,000 gallon fiberglass tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held Jet A.

The TankCam inspection revealed corrosion in the ATG riser pipe. Residue was observed on bottom and sides of tank and a float from floating suction system was found in the product.

Tank Trouble Tuesday


A fueling facility in Tanknology's Southeast region requested a TankCam® inspection of a 12,000 gallon steel tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held diesel.

The TankCam inspection revealed water dripping down the exterior of the back siphon tube and showed a buildup of possible microorganism growth or calcium deposits. The tank bottom exhibited a build up of sludge, oxidation, corrosion, debris, and water. Other metallic components of the tank, including the riser and tank top, also exhibited corrosion.
